Which chefs are competing in the Chopped Grill Masters Season 3 Napa Grand Finale? The final four competing for the big prize of $50,000are Jonathon Sawyer, Sophina Uong, Daniel Gomez Sanchez and Tony Maws.

It will be an unforgettable competition with some fine aspiring and established chefs. So what are the strategies each chef intends to use to get to the top and be a Chopped Grill Masters winner?

Jonathon Sawyer’s Grand Finale Strategy

A scientist/creative genius chef from Cleveland, Sawyers wanted to approach the dishes by bringing in his eccentric personality and passion for ingenious food to the competition.

He made it into the finale because the judges had very little critique for his dishes, besides his veal entrée which didn’t rest long enough.

His dessert round even left one Chopped Grill Masters judge wanting more! Although he felt out of his comfort zone with the box of mystery ingredients, he hoped that he was able to deliver genuinely inspiring dishes.

His strategy is to continue using bold flavors on the dishes and to focus more on texture and less on plating, and to ask more questions.

Sophina Uong’s Grand Finale Strategy

Uong also slayed other competitors, advancing to the grand finale. She’s competing because she wants to prove to herself that she is capable and worthy of going up against the best.

She wanted to challenge herself and says her strategy moving forward will be to put more focus on her dishes, use tons of flavor and to take risks, i.e.,to not hold anything back.

Daniel GomezSanchez’s Grand Finale Strategy

Daniel Gomez Sanchez really delivered when it was his time to compete for a spot in the top four. The judges loved his dishes and valued his meticulousness, saying he did an excellent job of balancing flavors.

His strategy going into the finale is to stick with the same strategy: don’t beat yourself up over little mistakes, don’t play it safe, and make the most of the flavor of every ingredient.

Tony Maws’ Grand Finale Strategy

Tony Maws went into the competition confidently as he controlled the grill and used the ingredients to perfection. His strategy for the finale is to be true to himself and to stick to the methods of cooking that he feels confident in, i.e., following his sense of how to properly season and cook his dishes, and not going too far into left field. Basically, Maws wants to walk away knowing he did his very best!

There have been four different episodes with four different grillers for this round of Chopped Grill Masters 2016, and four contestants remain. The judges are tough, but with determination and their individual strategies, one chef will succeed. It’s anybody’s game!
