Eggnog French Toast Breakfast Recipes

Eggnog French Toast #1

Serves: 4

Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs
  • 8 thick slices of French bread
  • 1 1/2 cups eggnog
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 ounce dark spiced rum (optional)

For Serving: Powdered sugar (for dusting), pure maple syrup, butter

In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, eggnog, rum (if using), sugar, and nutmeg.

Set a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Melt one tablespoon of butter in the pan. Take a slice of bread, dip it briefly into the eggnog mixture (coating evenly on both sides). Transfer it directly to the hot pan.

Cook the French toast until browned on the bottom. Then flip and cook again on the other side until browned and cooked through. Repeat with remaining slices of bread. Add the other tablespoon of butter as needed to the pan.

To serve the French toast: Dust it with powdered sugar. Serve with pure maple syrup and butter on the side.

Eggnog French Toast #2

Serves: 6

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs (beaten slightly)
  • 12 slices French bread
  • 1 1/2 cups eggnog
  • 1 1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice

Method:

Whisk the eggs, eggnog, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice together in a mixing bowl (until well blended). Pour the mixture into a shallow dish.

Preheat an electric skillet to 300°F (150°F). Lightly grease the skillet.

Dip one slice of bread (at a time) into the eggnog mixture. Make sure to coat each side of the bread.

Place the prepared bread slices into the preheated skillet. Cook, turning once, until golden brown on each side. Place cooked slices on a serving plate. Cover with foil to keep warm until all French toast is cooked. Serve immediately.

Eggnog French Toast Recipe #3

Serves: 8 to 10

Ingredients:

  • 8 eggs
  • 20 to 26 slices English muffin bread
  • 2 cups eggnog
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla or rum extract
  • maple syrup
  • Confectioners’ sugar (optional)

Method:

Beat eggs, eggnog, sugar, and extract in a bowl. Soak bread for two minutes per side. Cook on a greased hot griddle until golden brown on both sides and cooked through. Dust with confectioners’ sugar (if you desire). Serve with syrup.
