“Gilmore Girls” Star Melissa McCarthy Flaunts Weight Loss While Promoting New TV Land Show, “Nobodies”

Melissa McCarthy flaunted her weight loss while promoting her new TV Land show, Nobodies. The Gilmore Girls star’s weight loss came as a bolt from the blue for her admirers. The celebrity showed off her enviable figure in a teal and white patterned blazer with cropped matching trousers. She paired her outfit with pointed heels, sporting wavy hair.

Melissa McCarthy is the Executive Producer of the show with her husband, Ben Falcone, and is set to premiere on Wednesday, March 29 on TV Land. During the promotion of Nobodies, she also expressed her views about the Gilmore Girls series concluding with Rory telling Lorelai Gilmore, “I’m pregnant.” It is also reported that there was a much controversy surrounding McCarthy’s instant weight loss which led to the cancellation of the show, Mike and Molly.

Melissa McCarthy revealed during an interview with TMZ that she took weight loss supplements to be healthy. She says, “They’re canceling an amazing show JUST because I decided to finally be healthy. It makes no sense! They said I no longer fit the part, which is outrageous.” She confesses to an incredible weight difference in just a week after taking the pills.

It was not only the pills which McCarthy relied on to lose weight. She also followed a clean diet and adhered to regular workouts.

Melissa McCarthy’s Weight Loss Diet Plan

Melissa McCarthy consumes a high-protein and low-carb diet to help her lose weight. The diet consists of plenty of fresh green veggies, fruits, chicken, fish, and eggs. To keep herself away from grabbing junk foods in between meals, she drinks a glass of water with lemon or she snacks on veggies like steamed broccoli sprinkled with salt and pepper. She also has a smoothie made of kale, apple, spinach, and chia seeds everyday.

Her trainer believes that a person’s mindset is the most important factor to lose weight. Rather than forcing your mind to refrain from processed foods, you must focus more on intake of clean and natural foods like fruits, veggies, and whole grains. These foods have ample vitamins, minerals, and fiber which keep you full longer.

McCarthy regularly drinks green tea which is full of antioxidants and helps boost her metabolism. Celebrity Health & Fitness reported that high-intensity interval training (HIIT) also contributed to McCarthy’s weight loss. Another secret which helped her to shed the weight was going to bed early to keep her away from late-night munching. She revealed to OK! Magazine, “A super-boring life. You go to bed at 7:30 [pm]. That’s the trick.”

McCarthy works out five days a week and likes to do workouts that are fun. She hates gym workouts so to keep her motivated, her trainer incorporated kickboxing and martial arts into her routine. She loves resistance training that includes push-ups, reverse crunches, wall sits, hamstring ball curls, and body weight squats. Her routine also includes dumbbell squats, dumbbell walking lunges, rope skipping, rowing, burpees, machine chest presses, and barbell deadlifts.

We can’t wait to see Melissa McCarthy in her new show, Nobodies. The show has already been renewed for season 2 ahead of the March 29 debut of the season premiere.
