Henry Cavill Aspires to Be “Star Wars” Villain: Superman Certainly Has Physique for Role

Star Wars is driving everyone crazy and Henry Cavill is no exception. The actor Instagrammed a pic in scuba diving gear mentioning that he loves being Superman but secretly wants to be a bad guy in Star Wars.

The Superman aspires to be a Star Wars villain, and certainly has the right physique to do the role. His back-breaking workout regimen for Man of Steel was torturous. Cavill told Shortlist magazine, “I’m training two-and-a-half hours a day, pushing my body beyond its normal limits, putting on a lot of muscle mass and just making myself look like Superman.” He continued, “I did two months training on my own and four months training in LA with Mark, and that was excruciating – breaking boundaries I didn’t know I could.”

Henry Cavill’s Workout Routine

Henry Cavill’s workouts are truly laborious and are similar to that of an athlete. The technique he adopted to get a ripped shape is very simple but unique. His routine includes preparation, bulking, leaning out, and maintenance.

He tried bulking up by altering his diet and including vast amounts of fats, carbs, and proteins. He combined his diet with hours of weightlifting. He then decreased his caloric intake and shed the fat revealing his toned and ripped shape. Cavill’s workout for Man of Steel was similar, and he worked out with trainer, Mark Twight. His workout routine includes the following:

Hang Clean and Jerk: He lifts 10,000 lbs as fast as possible using only one rep of squats, presses, and deadlifts. He does one rep at a time and cycles through all three lifts to complete one round.

Clean pull: Four sets with one rep
Power Clean: Four sets with one rep
Front Squat: Four sets with one rep
Push Press: Four sets with one rep
Split jerk: Four sets with one rep
Front squat: As many as needed, workin up to one heavy rep
Front/Back Squat Combo: Three sets with seven front reps and 13 back reps

Henry Cavill’s High-Calorie Diet

Henry Cavill admitted to consuming at least 5,000 calories per day while preparing for Man of Steel. He varied his caloric intake between 3,500 and 5,000 calories.

Sample of His 3,500 Calorie Diet Plan:

His first meal of the day includes five egg whites, two eggs, a half cup of oats, one apple, and a multi-vitamin or fish oil.

The second meal consists of a cup of brown rice, one chicken breast, and one cup broccoli.

The third meal of the day includes six ounces of tuna, two slices of wheat bread, a protein shake, and a banana.

The fourth meal is made up of a chicken wrap, a large 10″ flour tortilla, six ounces of chicken breast, a half cup of lettuce, and tomato.

Meal five includes a protein shake, potato, eight ounces of milk, one cup of oats, one scoop of whey, two tablespoons of peanut butter, and sweet potato.

The last meal of the day includes one cup cottage cheese, a small yogurt mixed with cottage cheese for flavor, and almonds.

His first meal of the day includes 56 grams of protein powder, three cups of low fat milk, two cups of cereal, two cups of blueberries, and six tablespoons of almonds.

The second meal of the day includes half a cup of low-fat cottage cheese, two cups of grapes, 56 grams of protein powder, three tablespoons of barley, and one ounce of sunflower seeds.

The third meal is made up of  four ounces of chicken breast, four ounces of low-fat cheese, four cups of vegetable soup, four crackers, three whole pitas, and 12 peanuts.

The fourth meal consists of 49 grams of protein powder, one and half cups of yogurt, one tablespoon of barley, three tablespoons of almonds, one tablespoon of olives, flax, hemp or salmon oils, and two tangerines.

The fifth meal is made up of 11 ounces of beef, four cups of cauliflower, two cups of rice, six tablespoons of almonds, and one and a half cups of fruit juice.

The final meal of the day includes 11 ounces of turkey, two cups of chickpeas, one cup of mushrooms, one-fourth cup of onions, one head lettuce, three cups of cherry tomatoes, and six tablespoons of almonds.
