Jenna Dewan, Flaunts Killer Body on Instagram: Channing Tatum’s Wife Loves Spin Classes & Weight Training

Actress Jenna Dewan Tatum began her career as a backup dancer before starring in the 2006 dance film Step Up with future husband Channing Tatum. The former backup dancer worked with Janet Jackson, Pink, Christina Aguilera, and Missy Elliott.

She also played the role of Sasha in another dance movie, Take the Lead (2006). The 35-year-old has since been featured in TV series American Horror Story: Asylum and Witches of East End. She also appears as Lucy Lane in the series Supergirl. Jenna Dewan Tatum recently showed off her killer body in an Instagram photo.

Earlier this year, Jenna Dewan Tatum showed off her glutes and washboard abs on the cover of Women’s Health. In 2013, Dewan Tatum gave birth to daughter Everly, and credits dance workouts and a vegan diet for her 33-pound, post-pregnancy weight loss in just seven weeks.

Jenna Dewan Tatum believes that new moms put too much pressure on losing weight. The focus should be put on the baby, and in time the weight will come off.

Jenna Dewan’s Training and Workout Routine

Although Jenna Dewan Tatum went back to work soon after pregnancy, she did manage to get in a 45-minute power workout every day. Besides dance workouts, Dewan Tatum also enjoys weight training and spin classes. On occasion, she will also do competitive CrossFit workouts with Channing Tatum. Dewan Tatum prefers training sessions or classes to solo workout sessions. She loves having someone watch her and give her inspiration.

CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program that focuses on a variety of physical skills, including stamina, strength, respiratory and cardiovascular endurance, power, flexibility, agility, balance, speed, accuracy, and coordination. It also takes elements from Olympic weightlifting, powerlifting, gymnastics, plyometrics, and high-intensity interval training. CrossFit is performed in more than 13,000 gyms.

Jenna Dewan Tatum also works with celebrity trainer Jennifer Johnson, and performs various strength training and cardio workouts while working out four times weekly for 90 minutes each session. She often warms up with a 30-minute dance workout, which sculpts her legs, stomach, and arms. She also pairs resistance band workouts with kickboxing and dance. Dewan Tatum’s other favorite light workouts include walking and hiking. Working out also helps prevents mood swings for Dewan Tatum.

Jenna Dewan’s Healthy Diet Plan

Jenna Dewan sticks to a strict vegan diet to stay healthy. For breakfast, she eats oatmeal or green smoothies. Lunch and dinner vary; however, her favorite meals include tacos with rice, avocado, beans, and tempeh, as well as quinoa bowls with harvest vegetables. She also loves hummus, energy bars, and fruit for snacks.

Dewan Tatum also avoids cravings for French fries and instead rely on nutrient-dense vegetables, nuts, and seeds. Her vegan diet also includes gluten-free grains, and seed and nut-based butters and flours. A vegan diet avoids all types of animal products, including fish, poultry, and meat. Plant-based diets are known to reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes, cancer, and cardiovascular disease.

She hasn’t been able to get her husband on board with the diet. Channing Tatum tried a vegan diet for a six-month period, but he didn’t continue due to his dislike of vegetables.
