Jessica Chastain’s built a solid Hollywood career for herself. The star of “Miss Sloane” and the upcoming “The Zookeeper’s Wife,” Chastain has a filmography full of challenging roles where she’s tackled difficult subjects. She definitely does not pander, and has proven herself as one of the more versatile and talented actors of the past decade or so.

Along with her ability to portray deep and complex characters, Chastain has also garnered attention for adopting a vegan diet. This diet may contribute to her lean physique, while perhaps overshadowing her talent on the big screen.

Vegan Diets for Weight Loss

One of the first places people look when they’re trying to lose weight is to fruits and vegetables—and mainly eating more of them. And doing so can result in weight loss—fruits and vegetables are low calorie, very healthy, and are an essential part of a healthy lifestyle. It’s highly unlikely anyone is going to get fat or increase their weight from eating more veggies and fruit; however, I would stop short of suggesting a person adopt a vegetarian or vegan diet. The truth is that there are number of nutrients that you can only get from meat or animal products, and they are very important to your long term health. For example, animal products are the best sources of vitamin B12, iron, protein and omega-3 fatty acids.

A Balanced Approach Mixed With Exercise

Aside from her abilities as an actress, Chastain also has the slender Hollywood body you’ve come to expect on the silver screen. Her vegan diet helps keep her slim, but it’s also likely she maintains an active lifestyle to stay healthy. Yoga and dancing help keep her limber, relaxed and active, improving flexibility, reducing the risk of injury, and keeping her heart healthy. Dancing is one of the best and most fun ways to improve your cardiovascular system because it gets your blood pumping and is tons of fun. But if you don’t like dancing, you can always opt for activities like swimming, jogging, walking, skating, or cycling.

Jessica Chastain’s healthy lifestyle is not something reserved for Hollywood stars or rich people. You don’t need a lot of resources to include more vegetables in your diet, increase fruit intake, and include some healthy animal products. In fact, walking to the grocery store might be the first step in helping you lose weight and adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Remember that a healthy lifestyle is in reach for everybody, it just takes time and dedication. But the small decisions you make every day about what you eat and how you spend your time—sitting watching TV or going for a walk, to a dance class, etc.—can have a big impact.
