War Dogs actor Jonah Hill’s weight loss is well documented. Jonah Hill was the heavy-set guy. He was known as the comic relief in many of his early roles like Knocked Up, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Funny People, Superbad, Accepted, and Get Him to the Greek.
Jonah Hill was good at it- he definitely played the chubby, funny, and lovable character well. But the 32 year old clearly wanted more challenging and serious acting roles, and he had to drop the weight to do so.
Jonah Hill’s weight fluctuations seem to depend on what movie he is starring in. The actor lost 40 pounds for his 2011 role in Moneyball, but he gained it all back less than a year later. Hill would again drop weight for roles in 21 Jump Street in 2012, The Wolf of Wall Street in 2013, and 2014’s 22 Jump Street. However, while filming his new movie War Dogs in 2015, Jonah Hill’s weight gain was back.
Forward to July of this year and Jonah Hill looks thinner than ever. Hill says that being in shape is a sign of maturity to others.

Jonah Hill’s Weight Loss Diet
Jonah Hill had some serious eating habit flaws in his late 20s. The two-time Oscar nominee knew something had to change, so he hired a nutritionist. The nutritional guidance led him to eating more vegetables, fruits, lean protein, whole grains, and low-fat dairy products.
Hill embraced a Japanese diet with lots of sushi and stopped eating morning donuts; he also eliminated alcohol and caffeine from his diet. He says he gets really thin when he cuts out beer. Pizza, ice cream, and convenience store snacks were next to go.
It wasn’t too long before the weight began to melt away for Jonah Hill. The actor has also reportedly dropped weight by cutting carbs and following a plan similar to the Atkins diet. A low-carb, high-protein diet like Atkins boosts metabolism, suppresses appetite, reduces inflammation, increases muscle mass, and lowers the risk of type 2 diabetes.
Jonah Hill often travels during much of his weight loss routine. As a result, his diet options vary quite a bit. For instance, lunch for Hill may include a pan seared sirloin steak salad. Hill’s private chef would make him an 8-ounce sirloin steak pan fried in coconut oil. The steak is then paired with spinach and a low-calorie salad dressing. Dinner for Hill includes a sushi meal or a piece of salmon, filet mignon, or sea bass.
Despite losing lots of weight on the diet, it apparently left Hill stinky. Hill reportedly added lots of flavor to his diet with garlic and onions, and people would complain about his toxic breath.
Jonah Hill’s Workout Routine:
Jonah Hill combines a light workout with his nutrient-rich diet, which includes running, sit-ups, and push-ups. Hill performs three sets of exercises with 45 seconds rest between sets. The workout was designed to sculpt the actor’s abs, arms, and chest while providing maximum fat loss.
Hill performs other exercises like to work his legs an abs like squats, lunges, leg curls, abdominal plank holds, rope crunches, and step-ups workouts. Hill has also gotten exercise advice from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Johnson has offered to work out with Hill and hook him up with a trainer.
Jonah Hill also reportedly worked with a spiritual guru, who helped him lose 20 pounds with the long-term goal of 80. The guru advised Hill on a 30-day cleanse and also worked out with Hill three times weekly. In addition Hill started meditating to get to the root of his emotional issues and keep his weight off permanently.
