Model Karlie Kloss, a Victoria’s Secret angel, showed off how her fitness routine is paying off for her; this week, she was photographed in New York’s West Village in a tummy-baring cropped black shirt with jeans and a long coat.
At six foot two, the model paired the look with grey heeled boots. The 24-year-old also took to Instagram earlier this week, posting a shot of her at the gym in a hoodie.
Kloss is going to once again walk the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show runway as an angel, the first time since 2014. The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show normally takes place in New York City, but this year it is being moved to Paris.
The show will tape on November 30 at the Grand Palais and will air on CBS on December 5. Other models who will be in the show with Kloss are Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Jasmine Tookes, Martha Hunt, Romee Strijd, Sara Sampaio, as well as Gigi and Bella Hadid.
Kloss’ Fitness Routine
Fitness has always been a part of her life—working out hard to stay in shape comes rather easily for Kloss. In fact, she told Vogue that fitness is a way of life for her, and has been since her teenage years. She says, “Growing up, I played every sport in the book—basketball, soccer, swim team.” She also practiced classical ballet, which helped her develop self-awareness, and she credits it for having given her the confidence to strut fashion runways.
Even with all the activity and exercise she has done throughout the years, Kloss credits New York City trainer Justin Gelband for really whipping her body into shape. “I had a total girl crush on models Candice Swanepoel and Miranda Kerr” says Kloss. Turns out those Angels were working with Gelband and Kloss wanted in on whatever it was those women were doing to look as fabulous as they did. “Whatever they’re doing, I want to do it too.”
So for the past three years, Kloss has been meeting regularly with Gelband for regular workout sessions at his modelFIT studio in Nolita. “My body has really changed,” says Kloss—Gelband is known for getting the models to perform slow, controlled movements to build long, lean muscle. Cardio work, strength training, and running have all kept Kloss in her best shape, in addition to the vegan diet that she’s known to follow.
She can also perform the routine without Gelband, which makes it appealing to celebrities who travel a lot. “If I travel for work,” says Kloss, “I have a set of resistance bands, a pair of ankle weights, and my Nike tennis shoes in my bag. That’s it.” Those items allow her to do a circuit of mini workouts that can easily be done in any hotel room.
In the New Year, Kloss will be showcasing a series of anytime, anywhere workouts that have been developed by Gelband, and they will be posted on Vogue.com. Each workout is designed to target a particular body part.
