Over the weekend, rumors started surfacing that Kate Hudson and Angelina Jolie’s ex, Brad Pitt, might be hooking up, but no reports have confirmed the relationship yet. If the rumors are true, it would be no surprise since Hudson is a beautiful, smart woman much like Pitt’s ex and she has a fit body that is envied by many. Guess we will have to wait and see if anything really comes of these rumors. So how does Hudson get her fit body?

Kate Hudson’s Fitness Routine and Diet

Hudson is an incredibly active mom of two boys. If she’s not hiking and biking with friends and family, she is doing yoga and Pilates or dancing. She also loves to go to spinning classes at SoulCycle. But the one thing that Hudson loves above all is Pilates. She’s been working with her Pilates instructor Nicole Stuart for over a decade.

Pilates is a superb exercise for an all-over body workout that places emphasis on developing a strong core. The reformer is a piece of equipment used a lot in Pilates, but other Pilates exercises are done using a ballet barre and a mat.

The Fabletics owner does a Pilates routine three to five times a week to get the best results. Anyone can do the workout with just a mat, devoting 15 minutes a day, three times a week. There are two exercises that Hudson does that can be done at home.

The first exercise is a roll-up. Lie face up with arms over your head, palms facing the ceiling. Extend your legs with the heels together and your toes turned outwards. Breathe out through your mouth when you raise your arms over your chest. Pull your abs in and roll up to a seated position, bent over your legs. Do this five times.

The second exercise is a double leg stretch. Lie face up with your knees bent over your hips, heels together, and toes pointed (this is important for the exercise so be sure to keep proper form). Lift your shoulders and extend your arms along the sides of your legs, palms facing each other.

Breathe in and then exhale as you extend your legs in front of you. Bring your arms overhead, palms facing legs, and return to the starting position. Do this 15 times.

There are other trainers who work with Hudson to help keep her in shape and motivated. She likes it that way because she says her trainers push her to new levels of fitness. The key to her workout routines and keeping her shape is the variety of activities that she does. Some days she does a Tracy Anderson dance workout, and other days a Body By Simone workout.

Diet is also a major part of staying fit and healthy, and Hudson knows this. The actress follows an alkaline diet that is mostly vegetarian based. Meat, dairy, eggs, most grains, caffeine, alcohol, and processed foods are not allowed.

For breakfast, Goldie Hawn’s daughter has a green juice and coffee, and maybe some egg whites with an avocado. Hudson admits to having a caffeine addiction, so she does allow that in her diet. Most of her calories come from tofu, nuts, fruits, and vegetables.
