Kerry Washington Gives Birth: Wife of Former NFL Player Nnamdi Asomugha’s Took to Healthy Eating during Pregnancy

Nnamdi Asomugha and Kerry Washington welcomed a new edition to their growing family on October 5. Washington gave birth to the couple’s second child, whom they named Caleb Kelechi. Kerry Washington has stunned on the red carpet during her pregnancy and many wonder how the Scandal star stayed fit throughout the full nine months. Well, here is the scoop.

Kerry Washington on Her Pregnancy Fitness

Kerry Washington gushed to the Los Angeles Times saying that she feels “really, really blessed” on both a personal and professional level. The actress has a reason to feel that way: She just welcomed her second child and has a thriving career. She made pregnancy look effortless over the last few months because she was feeling very good. However, according to an insider, she began to feel a bit tired towards the summer and looked forward to some relaxation.

So, what did Kerry Washington do to stay fit during her pregnancy? Well, she practiced different types of yoga and also ate healthy during this time. Putting healthy foods in her body is something she has been very conscious of even before her pregnancy. It’s not a stretch to assume that she stuck with unprocessed foods and those with nutrients, vitamins, and minerals.

Specifically, Washington has been a long-time fan of Kimberly Snyder, a nutritionist who loves to make organic smoothies. Washington loves these organic smoothies, and her favorite is the Glowing Green Smoothie, the recipe for which is featured below. It is loaded with dark, leafy greens and is naturally sweetened with apple and pear. It’s also apparently a really nutritious drink for pregnant women, so it’s no wonder Washington loved it while she was pregnant. Glowing Green Smoothie

  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 1 pear, cored and chopped
  • Juice of 1/2 fresh lemon
  • 1/3 bunch cilantro, optional
  • 1/3 bunch parsley, optional
  • 1/2 head of a large bunch or 3/4 of a small bunch of spinach
  • 1 apple, cored and chopped
  • 1 pear, cored and chopped
  • 1 head romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 3-4 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1/2 head of a large bunch or 3/4 of a small bunch of spinach
  • 1 apple, cored and chopped

Directions:

  1. Add a chopped head of romaine and 1½ cups of water to the blender and start the blender at low speed, mixing until smooth.
  2. As you increase the speed of the blender, add the spinach, apple, celery, and pear. Then add the parsley and cilantro if you choose to add them. Then add the banana and the lemon juice as the last items.

Kerry Washington stays weight conscious by following a healthy diet and being meticulous about the foods she puts into her body. This is a great method for anyone looking to improve their diet. Start by becoming more conscious of the quality of food you’re eating. Doing this in addition to some yoga or light exercise is also a great idea for any pregnant people who are looking to stay fit during their pregnancy.
