Mutant Wolverine/Logan Hugh Jackman’s Fitness Journey

Hugh Jackman Workout Routine

Jackman is devoted to his workouts. The actor stays motivated when it comes to his fitness regime and is also reported to be adherent. To look like a mutant, he focused on shaping his body through an intensive workout. He worked with trainer David Kingsbury, who helped with his Wolverine physique. The training sessions focused on endurance levels, and he always tried to increase the intensity of the workouts for the star.

Jackman’s workouts included heavy sets of compound movements, like increasing strength with low reps, and increasing capacity with high reps. The high reps encouraged sarcoplasmic hypertrophy. The trainer also broke the training into two phases: the bulk and the cut. Kingsbury used a measurement system to calculate the calories and work on achieving lean muscle.

The actor also worked with trainer, Steve Ramsbottom, who helped him with his chiseled body. His workout routine was divided into three phases: mass building, weight/strength training, and maintenance of the body.

His workouts would include cardio workouts, Pilates, running, and yoga. The cardio sessions helped to burn fat, and would include the treadmill, elliptical, spinning, or rowing exercises. His workout routine also focused on exercising various parts of his body like the chest, back, legs, arms, and shoulders. The actor focused on SPARQ (Speed, Power, Agility, Reaction, and Quickness) training. During weight training, Jackman focused on four core exercises which included bench presses, squats, weighted pull-ups, and deadlifts.

Hugh Jackman Diet Plan

Jackman believes that 70% of diet helps with how you look, and 30% comes from the actual training. To achieve his goal, he ate clean and consumed the right amount of calories.

Jackman shared in an interview that he would wake up at 4:00 a.m. and have four egg whites. He also consumed protein shakes, and the recent protein loaf pic hints at how he has diverse ways of incorporating protein in his diet.

His personal trainer, Kingsbury, worked out a nutrition principle for his training called carb cycling. Thus, he had carbs on weight training days and low-carbs for rest days. Jackman followed a strict diet which focused on carb cycling, calorie cycling, and an intermittent fasting regimen. He ate six meals a day consisting of proteins and tried to consume around 4,000 to 4,500 calories daily.

His meals include eggs, oatmeal, steak, sweet potatoes, broccoli, chicken, brown rice, spinach, fish, and avocado. He also used a few supplements like Universal Nutrition’s Animal Pump (pre-workout), five to 10 grams of Animal Nitro BCAAs, and L-carnitine to metabolize fatty acids.

Hugh Jackman proves that with a dedicated approach to a fitness regime, one can achieve incredible results.
