New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and supermodel Gisele Bundchen (who is Tom Brady’s wife!) both eat a special plant-based diet that helps them stay healthy and in shape.

For the football star and his gorgeous wife, staying in shape is part of the job. The two celebrities depend on their bodies for their career. Brady has to perform at an elite level on the football field, while Bundchen has to stay slim for modeling lingerie.

Staying healthy and eating the right diet is crucial, which is why they employ a private chef to cook all of their home meals. Now, that chef is revealing the secrets behind what they eat and how they stay healthy.

Chef Allen Campbell is the man behind Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen’s home-cooked cuisine. Each day, Campbell visits to the power couple’s home to prepare nutritious meals for their family – he even does the grocery shopping!

Campbell says he loves working for Brady and Bundchen, as his philosophy towards holistic and healthy living aligns perfectly with the duo’s own values. And since their health is so important to their careers, they have an appreciation for the healthy meals that Campbell makes.

In fact, Campbell’s meals for the family adhere to a strict, plant-based diet. The personal chef believes that plant-based diets are the healthiest way to eat and that they can prevent disease.

Some 80 percent of Brady and Bundchen’s daily diet plan is made up vegetables. All of the vegetables are fresh, organic, and non-GMO (genetically modified). Campbell tries to avoid using vegetables that are anti-inflammatory, including tomatoes, peppers, and other nightshades. He says that Brady and Bundchen may eat only one tomato-based meal each month.

Campbell also uses a lot of whole grains in their diet, including quinoa and brown rice. However, the meals he prepares are all gluten-free, so even whole wheat bread is avoided.

Many of the meals are made in the style of “mix bowls,” with a variety of ingredients mixed together in one dish. For instance, Campbell says that he has made bowls containing quinoa, wilted greens, kale, garlic, toasted almonds, and cashew sauce. The family also enjoys eating vegetable maki sushi.

While Brady and Bundchen eat a large amount of vegetables, around 20 percent of their diet is comprised of lean protein, including duck, chicken, and organic grass-fed steak. Protein is important for fueling their workouts and helping maintain their fitness.

Brady is so into healthy living that he has released his own nutrition manual. The football star says that his healthy lifestyle is to thank for his career of over 17 years in the NFL. He says that eating healthy allows him to reach his maximum potential.

So if you want to look like New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady or his supermodel wife Gisele Bundchen, you may not be able to afford a private chef, but you can definitely eat a plant-based diet that is high in vegetables!
