Vinyl star Olivia Wilde is no stranger to breast feeding her baby girl Daisy, but who knew she’d be pumping into mason jars?
How hipster! It’s true though: Wilde recently took to Instagram to display her super-mom skills, and yes, other moms out there could definitely relate. Wilde is a mom-of-two, but that hasn’t stopped her from looking smokin’ hot. Here is a look into her diet and fitness secrets.
Olivia Wilde Diet and Fitness Secrets
Olivia Wilde and her partner Jason Sudeikis welcomed their second child together—their daughter Daisy, who was born on October 11. Since Wilde is a new mom again, she has been busy tending to her baby, and that means pumping milk—even on vacation. This past weekend, in fact, when Wilde was on vacation, she forgot her breast milk storage bags and ended up using the mason jars inside the Airbnb that she was staying in.
If you didn’t already know, many moms use breast milk storage bags and store them in the refrigerator or freezer after pumping. However, experts are saying that a glass container like the mason jar she had to improvise with are actually just fine to use too. In fact, glass containers are becoming more popular due to people learning about the chemicals in plastic.
There are several manufacturers that make breast milk bags that are chemical free, but moms still should watch out for ones that do contain things like BPA, PVC and phthalates. These chemicals have been linked to certain types of cancers and infertility, so to be safe, glass is the way to go—just be sure to wash the jar or container with soap and warm water, or put it in the dishwasher to get rid of any bacteria.
The Olivia Wilde fitness regimen has the stunning actress staying active by walking her dog or hiking, sometimes on the beach. She tries to exercise every day. She also enjoys indoor cycling—it’s her favorite workout.
She likes it because it challenges her to push through resistance, which builds strength and endurance. She also loves Pilates and SoulCycle classes, which are excellent forms of cardio. She has many hobbies, and one of them is paddle boarding, which also doubles as physical activity.
The Olivia Wilde diet plan has her sticking to a very simple healthy living philosophy. Wilde drinks plenty of water to keep clear skin and likes and to stay hydrated. She also makes sure to get enough sleep (but sometimes she admits this can be hard) and get this—you won’t ever catch her at a tanning booth. It’s no good to expose your skin to unhealthy sun rays.
Wilde has been a vegetarian for most of her life, but transitioned to veganism in 2009, and she is very happy about it. Wilde admits she has noticed benefits, including increased energy and clearer skin.
She also feels good on the inside about this lifestyle. In the past, she also tried a pescatarian diet, where she ate only fish as a source of animal protein. She is big on encouraging others to enjoy food and the simple pleasure it brings. She does not follow a super restrictive diet in the sense that she does not count calories or follow crash diets. She believes in eating what feels good to your body.
On top of all of this, Olivia Wilde tries to maintain a positive attitude and outlook on life. She doesn’t get “neurotic” about things. She lives in the present, which keeps her grounded and feeling good overall.
