Ayesha Curry’s cooking show was announced in April 2016 and will be airing on the Food Network this fall. Originally called At Home with Ayesha, it’s now been renamed Ayesha’s Homemade. The network reportedly wants to engage a younger audience and boost ratings by featuring a celebrity.

Curry is no stranger to cooking and this is evident on her Instagram account; her lifestyle blog, ayeshacurry.com, is full of pictures showcasing meals and recipes. Many fans of hers hope that she will showcase these meals on her new show, too. Ayesha Curry’s show on the Food Network doesn’t mark her first time on TV, as she has also appeared on Cookin’ with the Currys from her home.

Ayesha Curry’s Cookbook Arrives This Fall

The Ayesha Curry’s cookbook, The Seasoned Life, will feature 100 of her favorite recipes and come out this September. Curry took to Instagram to share her excitement about the book, saying:

“So excited to announce that I will be writing my first cookbook “The Seasoned Life” with @littlebrown as my publisher! My team is so incredible and I can’t wait for you all to be able to enjoy my cookbook on faith, food and family next fall! It’s been a dream of mine to be able to share this with you all and I have been working extremely hard to bring you guys what I think will be a beautiful table top heirloom filled with the most delicious recipes and funny stories all from my heart and home. Ahh it’s happening!”

Ayesha Curry’s Taking Over the Kitchen

Curry is a busy businesswoman. Not only is there the upcoming Ayesha Curry Food Network debut and the release of her cookbook, but she also runs her own lifestyle blog and has a YouTube channel, Little Lights of Mine, where she posts cooking videos and recipes. Sometimes there is a surprise visit from her adorable daughter Riley, too.

Before becoming successful in her own right and marrying one of the NBA’s most valuable players, Stephen Curry, the Canadian-born Curry was a model and actress in California. Her lifestyle web site is all about food, family, and the little things that light up Curry’s life, including a sneak peek into what it’s like to live with her growing family. She says her husband’s diet has evolved from frozen pizza, chicken tenders, and pasta since they wed and notes that he has “broadened his horizons” in the food department thanks to her.

The public can also purchase Curry’s own brand of extra-virgin olive oil and homemade aprons from the web site. 10 percent of proceeds go to the No Kid Hungry organization.

Ayesha Curry and Stephen Curry’s kitchen is presumably always busy because Ayesha is constantly prepping food for Stephen and their kids. On her web site, she also posts instructional cooking videos and writes essays on topics ranging from faith to food to family.

Have you ever wondered why Curry loves cooking? She shared with People magazine why creating culinary delights is so satisfying.

“I am a firm believer that food makes people feel something. It makes people feel good, warm, and happy,” she said. “That’s the most rewarding thing for me, when someone takes that first bite and I see a smile. It’s probably the same adrenaline rush Steph gets when he plays a game.”

The 27-year-old is slowly building a reputation for herself as a serious chef. Not only is her cookbook coming out this year, but there is also talk of a pop-up restaurant coming to the Currys’ hometown of San Francisco.

But rest assured, Curry is not one to pretentiously boast about her skills and calls herself a “relaxed lifestyle expert”—adding that entertaining gives her anxiety and she can be a bit unorganized sometimes. Taking the pressure off by easing into the kitchen with a relaxed attitude works much better for her.

The Ayesha Curry Diet

Curry shares her diet insights on her web site. On her Fitness Friday blog, she posts diet tips for an overall healthy lifestyle. She says that when it comes to a lifestyle change, it’s about three things: routine, choice, and control. Here are Curry’s diet tips:

  • Exercise Portion Control: Eat the foods you love and crave in small, controlled amounts
  • Use Substitutions: Choose the healthier ingredient option, e.g. brown rice instead of white rice or coconut oil and olive oil instead of butter or canola oil
  • Stay Hydrated: Make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day as it is a big factor in weight loss and overall well-being
  • Eat a Good Breakfast: Make sure to fuel your body upon waking with nutritious options like a banana, whole-grain cereal, a protein shake, oatmeal, an avocado, or an omelet
  • Snacking Is Okay: Snacking between meals is fine because it speeds up the metabolism and provides energy. Just be sure to opt for healthy choices like fruit, nuts and seeds, protein smoothies, yogurt, or fresh juice
  • Eat Organic: When you can, choose organic because it’s better for your body
  • Take Vitamins: Curry takes a pre-natal multivitamin and says others may benefit from taking a multivitamin, too
  • Get a Good Night’s Sleep: Sleep is so important, so make sure you’re getting enough. Avoid any screens and wind down with essential oils, a humidifier, a sound machine, or some warm tea before bed
